Nicola Stevenson

Nicola has had a long standing interest in cell biology and protein trafficking. She completed her PhD at the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biology in London studying endothelial secretory organelles, and then moved to the University of Bristol to study intracellular transport in the context of ciliogenesis and extracellular matrix secretion. In 2025 she set up her group with the aim of uncovering how secretory pathway structure and function is regulated to respond to different environmental contexts.
George Thompson

George is fascinated by how cells create and modify their extracellular matrix and understanding how this environment shapes them in response. During his PhD he investigated how circadian clocks controlled the organisation of ECM, in the School of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Bristol. He is now working to understand how cells sense their physical environment and how this feeds back to regulate the secretory pathway.
